hardly strictly bluegrass 2011.

after attending HSB, in varying degrees, for the last three years, i know by now not to try to bounce around a lot to see every band i like. the stages are too spread out and there are a million people all wanting to get in your way. and sometimes the person you go with has even less patience than you do…
here’s my tentative schedule for this year:

friday, it’s all about the Rooster Stage:
getting out of work early today, but not sure if i’ll get there soon enough to catch Kurt Vile & the Violators at 2:20.
the Felice Brothers at 3:30
M. Ward at 4:45
Bright Eyes at 6:00

saturday:
Jason Isbell on the star stage at 12:30
if i decide to stick around after that, i may try to catch Broken Social Scene on towers of gold stage at 3:25 or AA Bondy on the porch stage at 3:45
if i decide to stay longer - of course there’s Steve Earle on the banjo stage at 5:45

sunday:
if i get my act together early enough to get out there, the Low Anthem on the star stage at 11:45
maybe the Devil Makes Three on the arrow stage at 1:10 or Those Darlins on the porch stage at 1:25
the only one i will definitely make a point to see this day: Justin Townes Earle on the rooster stage at 4:15
after that, i may stick around for the Jayhawks on the rooster stage at 5:45. we’ll see.
